Counselling is a way of creating space for ourselves to explore who we are and what is happening in our lives, allowing for greater self-awareness.
Counselling can help expand your knowledge of yourself, supporting you to find new ways of coping with what might feel like insurmountable challenges.
The counselling space is always yours to use in a way that nurtures your emotional growth and overall wellbeing.
We might explore past experiences and how these inform the present.
We might explore the present to help understand what it is that is leading to a sense of stuckness.
We might delve into feelings, ways of thinking and patterns of behaviour that are creating stuckness or difficulties.
While its simplicity can be confounding; the art of talking alongside the act of being heard without judgement, can help create a landscape of deeper self-understanding. Armed with increased self-awareness, life can feel more freeing as new routes emerge, allowing us to travel forwards, and change our stories.
Are You The Right Counsellor For Me?
The simple truth is that this feels a difficult question to answer. It is hard asking for support and trusting in someone you don’t know.
I would invite you to trust yourself and go with what feels best for you.
I am able to offer you a free, no obligation 30 minute session; in person, online or via the telephone where you can ask me questions that might help you decide whether or not you want to work with me. We can touch on what has recently prompted you to seek support and talk about what you would like to be different.
How Often Will We Meet And For How Long?
Ideally we would meet weekly, and we would arrange a time and day of the week that is most convenient for you.
It is your choice as to how long you would like to have counselling. I would invite you to give it a try, there is no harm in changing your mind if you feel it is not for you.
If you have different requirements, please discuss these with me and I will endeavour to be as flexible as possible.
What Sort Of Counselling Will Suit Me?
Counselling sessions can be face to face however I am happy to offer online counselling for adults who find it difficult to access counselling in person.
For online counselling to work well, it is important to have access to a safe and confidential space, free of interruption.
